Our beliefs

 About the Scriptures:

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13).

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and is the Savior of the world (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that through Adam’s sin, humanity inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God, incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23-23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin.  God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin (Acts 16:32; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

We believe all followers of Jesus should live for Him and not for themselves.  Through obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head.  The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ.  The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him, loving each other, and participating in the Great Commission by sharing the Good News (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Acts 14:27; 1 Timothy 3:1-3; Titus 1:5-11; Acts 13:2-4, 20:28; Romans 16:1-2; 1 Corinsthians 3:9; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Matthew 28:19-20).
